A new bill which could give law enforcement unlimited powers to spy, censor and control the Internet is about to be put in place while the public is looking the other way.
H.R.3523, also known as Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), reads very much like the now-dead SOPA bill.
The bill reads like an Adolf Hitler wish-list. It will force all telecommunication providers to give the fascist US government all your private information. This includes information stored on websites, telecommunications and all sorts of other private data. The bill is very broad.
This bill is mostly about spying. It will create a perfect fascist intelligence-merger between the private sector and the semi-private “government” intelligence “agencies” (=corporations). Mussolini would be happy.
The bill will force corporations to hand over everything if there is a “cyber threat”, and that term is undefined and at the discretion of the agencies asking for information.
Who supporst the CISPA bill?
Look at all these in-bed with intelligence corporations who support this spy-bill:
- Business Roundtable
- CTIA – The Wireless Association
- Cyber, Space & Intelligence Association
- Edison Electric
- The Financial Services Roundtable
- Independent Telephone & Telecommunications Alliance
- Information Technology Industry Council
- Internet Security Alliance
- Lockheed Martin
- National Cable & Telecommunications Association
- US Chamber of Commerce
- US Telecom – The Broadband Association
Those of you who are reading this on a Windows computer will be happy to see that Microsoft wants a law which makes it legal for them to continue their current practice of spying to those who are using their software. Facebook also wants their current practices to be legalized.
CISPA will cement the US police state. It will make the citizens less free and it will increase spying and surveillance in a country which is already far worse than Nazi Germany.
H.R.3523 will be rammed through about two weeks from now. It is time to wake up and pay attention. The stench of fascism is already unbearable in the USA. This bill will make it worse.
